Getting started

What do I need to do?

Make an appointment for an eye examination and contact lens assessment with your Visique Optometrist.

How often do I need to come back?

It is important to come back for regular check ups while you are being fitted with your new contact lenses. These visits occur in the first few months of lens wear, and are important to ensure the lenses are fitting correctly and you are comfortable handling them. There is no additional cost for these visits, as all costs will be outlined to you during your initial contact lens assessment.

Thereafter it is recommended that you have an examination every 12 months (or as recommended by your Visique Optometrist) for continuous assessment and to ensure that your eyes are remaining healthy while you wear your lenses.

Can I buy my contact lenses anywhere?

To ensure you receive up to date information regarding your lens designs or lens care products it is wise to return to your Visique Optometrist for your lens supplies. Disposable contact lenses are supplied in 3 or 6 months supply at a time, and it is simple to arrange for your contact lenses to be waiting for you at your Visique optometrist for collection at your convenience.

Do I still need glasses?

It is advisable to have a pair of glasses to wear as well; you may decide to remove your contact lenses when you get home from work, or you may still wear your glasses during the day, and keep your contact lenses to use in your leisure times; it is nice to have the choice!

Do I still need sunglasses?

Although some contact lenses have a UV protector included within the material you are still advised to wear your sunglasses for added protection, and glare reduction.

If you are interested in contact lenses and want to know more ask your Visique Optometrist today, they will be happy to give you individual advice and information allowing you the choice.
